I had a really hard time getting motivated to go out and shoot this week. The newest member of the extended family, my nephew Aspen Hawk, was born on Friday March 7th at 6:45am. He was born with Shone’s Syndrome, which is a heart condition. He is doing very well and is stable, strong and alert. The scary part is the open heart surgery he will be undergoing on March 17th. Just over a week old and going in for surgery. Luckily, he is in excellent hands at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland, OR and has a spectacular medical team taking care of him.
For my images this week, I tried to weed out the really dark ones, since I didn’t want to show that side of my mood this week.
We have had a lot of rain lately, and Tumwater Falls was raging.

Now we’ll end this week with an image from my favorite city, Portland, OR.
I don’t feel I was fully engaged in creating images this week. Hopefully after the surgery we get some good news and I’ll be able to concentrate more on my creative process.
I love the blackberry leaf. It is pretty impressive that this is your work even when you feel less engaged. I watched you shoot the Portland shot, and I think your eye is coming back!!
