Hopefully life will start getting back to normal….whatever that is. This week features a trip to the Electron Dam on the Puyallup river. The dam was built in 1904 to provide hydroelectric power to residents of the State of Washington. There is a small park near the dam, but sadly, you can only barely see the powerhouse from the park. Luckily, since I enjoy the play of nature and industry so much, there is a small fueling station and old equipment near the park.

As we left the area, we looked into the woods and saw an unexpected sight.

Would love to know the story behind this fireplace, the house it was in, and especially the carving in the face of the mantle.
Tim, your eye for a picture gets better and better. I particularly like the retired gas boy and the forest fireplace. I might have to do some research about that!
I LOVE the forest fireplace! All the pictures are spectacular…I can see your dedication and interest in all you see. mom
Have you found out anything about the fireplace, this reminds me of the piano in the park, I believe it’s in Seattle.
I’ve done some research and have yet to come up with the history of the fireplace. I’ll keep looking though and see if I can find it.
